Helpful advice to keep your systems running smoothly

When you purchase a new computer. More than likely it's going to have a lot of junk on it that the seller puts on it that slows your computer down. We recommend having someone wipe and reload your computer when you get it to avoid unnecessary slowdowns and intrusions.

At this time, anti-virus programs are unnecessary for the average user, and more than likely doing more bad for your computer than good. Windows has a built in Anti-Virus called Windows Defender that is turned on by default. That, along with a good ad-blocker such as uBlock Origin for your web browser is all you need.

Regular backups are essential. Use cloud storage or external drives to keep copies of important files. This protects you from hardware failures, malware, or accidental deletion.

I was born and raised in John Day, Oregon. For as long as I can remember, I've been interested in computers. I started teaching myself programming when I was in seventh grade, and went to college for Information Technology - Computer Networking Systems. Since then, I've gained 15+ years of IT experience, and learned the following programming languages: C#, Javascript, PHP, Python, and Powershell. I've developed video games and various desktop and web-based software for my clients over the years. I enjoy expanding my skillsets and learning new technologies every day.
